ShadowBuys

Questions

What is ShadowBuys?

ShadowBuys tracks stock trades by members of Congress and company insiders, using their public filings, and emails you when a new one comes in.

Where does the data come from?

Congress trades come from the reports members file with the House Clerk and the Senate. Insider trades come from Form 4 filings on the SEC’s EDGAR system. Every trade links to its original filing.

Is this investment advice?

No. ShadowBuys reports public disclosures. It doesn’t recommend buying or selling anything.

How quickly will I hear about a trade?

As soon as it’s public. Company insiders have two business days to report a trade. Members of Congress can take up to 45 days, so their filings often show up weeks later. New filings are checked all day, and you get an email as soon as each one is ready.

What will I get by email?

An email for each new filing, with a link to the original. Follow specific companies to hear about Congress trades and insider purchases in them, or get alerts for all of Congress. You can also turn on a Monday shortlist of up to five companies worth a look, sent on weeks when there are any.

The filings are public. Why pay?

You could read them yourself, but they’re spread across government websites and hard to read. ShadowBuys checks them for you, lays out each trade clearly and flags the ones that stand out. Subscribers also see new trades right away. Everyone else sees them a day later.

Can I check the original filing?

Yes. Every alert and trade page links to the official filing.

How does the free trial work?

The first 7 days are free. Pick monthly ($29 a month) or yearly ($108 a year) and add a card to start. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged. Otherwise, your plan starts automatically.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, from your account or the link in any email. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Payments aren’t refunded.
