About ShadowBuys

What it is

ShadowBuys tracks the stock trades of people who may know more than the rest of us: members of Congress and the officers and directors of public companies. Their trades are public, but spread across government websites and slow to read. We collect them, lay each one out clearly and email you when a new one comes in.

What we track

• Congress trades, from the reports members of the House and Senate file
• Company insider purchases, from Form 4 filings with the SEC
• Related public records, like government contracts, lobbying and political donations connected to the companies we track

Where the data comes from

Everything comes from official sources: the House Clerk, the Senate and the SEC, plus other government records. Every trade links to its original filing, so you can check it yourself.

Not investment advice

We report public disclosures. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell. A disclosed trade doesn’t mean anyone did anything wrong.
